Jordan

Jordan & Rob taking a nap.

It has happened- Jordan is taller than me!!! Yikes!! How did this happen?

His voice has changed also. For a couple weeks I would hear a man talking in the other room & think someone was here-no it was Jordan. I called home this week & thought he was Rob on the phone.

Jordan loves to wear his hood-see top photo- I have thought he was Rob in the yard many times.
I put the picture of Rob in bed with Jordan. Rob will use every excuse he can to take a nap (he is doing it right now). I can't stand it. He would always say the kids needed a nap & I can't tell you how many times they would be running around & he would have fallen asleep.

Final Four Baby!!!!!

Garrett #20 before the game. (this was all of his floor time for this game)

Lucas/Lucas #13/23 our 2 8th graders- that's right I said 2!!!

Winning the first game!!!! They did such a GREAT job!!! I was so nervous & sooo happy!!!

My 8th grader with part of the team.

6th graders listening to the boys get coached. I hope they are paying attention!

Garrett playing in the second game. Note the size of the other player.

We just had the most amazing day!!! The St. Thomas 8th grade team made it to the FINAL FOUR at state!!! The best part is- we only have 2 8th graders!!!! You should see these boys play!!! Garrett is on the team as a 6 th grader. What an experience for him. We have had so much fun- I really enjoy watching the games-usually I'm not a big sports fan:) I was sooo nervous before the first game---yikes!
We lost the second game on Saturday. I am so proud of these kids on the St. Thomas team & the coaches. They played hard & looked great.
We will play Thursday for 3rd or 4th place. I can't wait!!!

State Bound!

Kelly_Heart_Transp

This is the 7th grade St. Thomas team. They won the regional game last week.

We have 2 8th grade boys -Lucas/Lucas- they are going to State this weekend!!!! These boys can play!!! WOW!!! ( I wish I had a picture)

Garrett had some playing time on both teams. He plays when the 8th graders are up by 20 pts-which is a lot. He is having fun. I enjoy watching the boys. I also enjoy watching Pat/John coach. They really have done a great job-I'm glad I'm not a coach- I would not be good.

I have shed a few tears thinking about Jordan & his friends going to high school. I can't believe it!!! They have such a great group of kids in their class.

This is really big for St. Thomas & the 8th grade class. So wish us luck on Saturday. We will be playing at 12:30 in Pontiac.

Good Parents???

We have been looking for a new dog. Not wanting to deal with the puppy stage again I thought we would adopt from a shelter. We found a dog online, went to see it (first mistake) & didn't get accepted for the adoption. Rob went over first- I knew he would be the hardest "sell" & he is very rational/level headed. He told me the lady gave him the "third degree"- I didn't believe him. I took the kids over & couldn't answer a question right.
Lady-"Will you take the dog out on a leash?"
Me- "No- we live on a farm in the country."
Lady- "We prefer you have a fenced in back yard. Do you have any other animals?"
Me- "No"
Lady- "Well he might like a cat to play with."
I almost said that we had a cat & haven't seen in for a few months-RIP Cougar.
The only thing I didn't like about this dog was that he looked a lot like our old dog- just bigger.
The shelter lady said she would call us Wednesday & we could pick the dog up last Friday if we qualified. She didn't call or e-mail.

So- we went to the Amish store where we got Maggie. For only $25 more than the shelter fee we can be the parents of a Boston Terrier puppy without a background check or home visit. We are going to pick up "Jack" on Friday.
I almost forgot the best part:
Before I went to the Amish store & got a "talk" from Rob about how he didn't think we wanted a puppy & it needs to be warmer outside...blah blah...
We came home & told him how cute the puppy is & he said "Why didn't you bring it home?" I told him he had that "talk" with me with all the blah blah & he said " Well I didn't think you would listen to me, I just thought you would do it anyway!" So I called & will get Jack Friday. The photo above is not him- he is mostly white with a black diamond on his head.
P.S. Rob is the best husband ever!!!!
